I felt this information would give you a little facts about how the government is "trieing" to rectify the situation of sex, violence, and vulgarity on tv.   Congress is considering legislation that would require the broadcasting industry to create a universal ratings system for TV programs, and manufacturers to produce new TV sets with the technology to let viewers block out offensive programs. Broadcasters would have a year to create the ratings system; then the government would step in and devise the standards. The entertainment industry traditionally has resisted what it sees as censorship, but now it may be willing to respond on its own, rather than have government impose guidelines.

The New Show "Unsupervised"

Now this cartoon just made it's appearance onto primetime tv, I was embarassed to watch it myself... Now you tell me if you feel like I do... Now these are kids as well...

Is This Age Appropriate??

I'm glad this class is full of grown folks.... Please don't be offended like I said is this appropriate for children to be watching @ 8 or 9 o'clock on a weekend??

Summary Of Obscene Language In The Media

My paper will consist of views from parents, the media( tv, radio... etc..) and the children who is intaking all of this " grown folks talk" as my mother would say.  I will get into who is to blame, the parents, the media, or is it both.  Should any of the celebrities take some kind of blame for their actions when the smaller fans are looking up to them trieng to emulate them?  I try to reveal who will be the one who will stand up for our upcoming children. Is it the parents or is it the media's responsibility to regulate what is the appropriate for prime-time tv, or is it a team effort.... You decide...

Cursing good or bad?

Ok, I'm at it again.... This time it's about a little lighter subject such as, Is it ok for profanity to be used in the media while school age children are still awake?  Now when I say the media I'm talking radio, tv, internet, and even the celebrity figures.  My research took me on a journey that I didn't expect because I (was) one of those parents who thought they were monitoring their childs viewing choices.
